Our Work
Ecotricity "Green Britain Centre"
When The Green Britain Foundation decided to relaunch its centre in Swaffham, they wanted a new look to match their message — modern, inspiring, and built around sustainability. That’s when they asked us at Signs Express (Peterborough) to help bring the project to life.
The Foundation, part of Ecotricity, is all about showing people what a greener, more sustainable future can look like. The centre brings together renewable energy, eco-living, and education under one roof — so the signs needed to do more than just point the way. They had to tell a story.
The Brief
From the start, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a simple signage job. The building itself is unique — lots of glass walls that trap heat and an exposed site that gets extremely windy. Traditional materials just wouldn’t hold up for long.
We worked closely with the team at The Green Britain Foundation to understand what they needed and how the signs would be used. It had to look great, carry their new branding clearly, and stand up to the elements.

Our Approach
After the site visit, we pulled together a full package of solutions. Every material and finish was chosen carefully to deal with heat and weather exposure.
The final work included:
- A six-metre wall feature, digitally printed in full colour
- A three-by-two-metre exterior tray sign
- Custom exhibition pods for displays
- A mix of vinyl and printed wall graphics
- Acrylic directional signs to help visitors move through the space
We used UV-stable materials for the areas that get hot behind glass, along with reinforced fixings for the outdoor panels. Everything was made to last, even with the changing weather and constant sunlight the building faces.
Once the design was signed off, we got to work on production and installation. Every sign was manufactured at our Peterborough centre, which meant we could keep full control over colour, quality, and finish.

The End Result
The new signage tied everything together — from exterior branding to the internal spaces. The Foundation wanted a look that was fresh but simple, and that’s exactly how it came out. The graphics fit perfectly within the centre’s architecture and give a consistent, welcoming feel throughout the site.
The final installation also solved the long-standing issues the centre had with fading, heat warping, and movement in high winds. It’s a solid, smart-looking solution that performs as well as it looks.
