When the company decided to refresh part of its factory, the goal wasn’t just about new signage, it was about building a better environment for staff to share information and ideas.

Project Overview

The team at Signs Express were asked to help design and create a dedicated welfare and communications area inside the factory. The space needed to be functional and easy to update but also engaging enough to capture attention. This area would become a hub for notices, achievements, updates, and messages from across the business — a central spot where everyone could stay connected.

Our Approach

We worked closely with Perkins’ internal team to understand how the space would be used day-to-day. The design included custom-shaped sign panels with full-colour printed graphics, PVC banners, and poster snap frames that make it simple to refresh content as often as needed. Every detail was considered, from the durability of the materials to the visibility of each message board under factory lighting.

The Result

The new welfare hub has made a real impact. It’s bright, organised, and encourages people to stop and engage with what’s on display. Feedback has been fantastic, with comments coming in from across the business even from colleagues overseas who’ve seen photos of the transformation. What started as a simple signage project has become a genuine communication space that reflects Perkins’ culture of collaboration and care for its staff.

I contacted Signs express and they talked me through a few different price options and discussed my requirements. they pointed out that part of what I wanted would require the use of vinal wrap and explained why. they then sent me some ideas of what my van would look like. I requested to change a couple of bits and very quickly we had designed exactly what I was looking for. I proof checked it and got booked in for fitting. I dropped the van off in the morning and it was ready for collection in the afternoon, looking exactly how I wanted it. I highly recommend signs express, the whole process was excellent.
