Our Work
Buckles Solicitors
When Buckles Solicitors relocated to their new, high-profile offices beside Peterborough Railway Station and the Queensgate Shopping Centre, they wanted signage that would reflect the same sense of professionalism and quality their brand is known for.
With its prominent corner position and strong visibility from the station approach, the building presented both an exciting opportunity and a few challenges. That’s where our team at Signs Express (Peterborough) came in — to design, manufacture, and install a complete signage package that combined functionality, craftsmanship, and visual impact.

Client needs
The project called for a centrepiece feature — the now-iconic “Buckles Clock”, a bold design element that gives the building instant character while reinforcing the firm’s brand identity.
The main wall sign features a folded stainless-steel tray, measuring 915mm by 3050mm, with a mains-operated clock mechanism built into the panel. To make it as practical as it is eye-catching, the clock was fitted with a remote-control system that automatically adjusts between Greenwich Mean Time and British Summer Time.
“It’s always a bit nerve-racking with something as visible as a working clock,” recalls Dave Hitch, franchisee at Signs Express Peterborough. “We were all watching closely to see if the time would adjust itself on the changeover — thankfully, it did, right on cue.”
The face of the clock was completed with the Buckles logo, digitally printed in full colour onto MD5 vinyl, finished with a matt laminate, and paired with precision computer-cut vinyl lettering. The result? A smart, professional finish that perfectly matches the tone of the Buckles brand.

Our approach
Beyond the feature clock, the building required a series of complementary signs to ensure brand visibility from every approach.
On the end wall, we supplied and installed built-up flat-faced brushed stainless-steel letters to create a premium, long-lasting finish.
The front of the building features matching brushed stainless-steel built-up letters — spanning an impressive seven metres across the façade — offering clear visibility from both the station and surrounding walkways.
To complete the package, two freestanding monolith signs were installed on-site. Each one was three-sided (Toblerone-style) and manufactured in brushed stainless steel, finished with a combination of digitally printed and computer-cut vinyl graphics. To ensure durability, all monoliths were coated with an anti-vandal protective finish — a small but essential touch for a city-centre location.

A Collaboration
Throughout the project, the team at Buckles Solicitors worked closely with us to ensure every detail reflected their corporate image and the professional tone of their new premises.
From the initial concept to final installation, our Peterborough team handled everything in-house — including fabrication, digital printing, and precision fitting. Working at height and in a busy city-centre environment required careful coordination, but the results were worth it: a timeless, high-impact signage scheme that captures both elegance and functionality.

The Outcome
The Buckles Clock has quickly become a recognisable feature for anyone passing through the station area — a subtle but powerful symbol of reliability, accuracy, and trust.
For us, this project wasn’t just about making signs; it was about helping a respected local firm mark their presence with confidence. Every element, from the stainless steel to the digital print, reflects quality and attention to detail — the same values that drive Buckles in their work.
