The copper was to be left unfinished so the Verdigris finish will change over time.
We originally intended for this to be fixed into the wall by drilling a hole in the wall and inserting a rod into a chemical resin that would be attached to the inside of each shape. However, due to the size and material, it would be too heavy for the rod to carry the weight so the method of fixing was changed to incorporate a back panel.
As well as the Copper Rose, we also installed Brushed stainless steel built up letters to read "WELCOME TO BINGLEY" underneath the rose.
The wall it was to be fixed to is a stone finish so we had to be powder coat the fixing rails to a single colour as close as we can get to the colour of the stone so that it blended as much as possible into the background.
It was an absolute pleasure to be asked to be involved with this project and the finished product is one we’re very proud of.
Beth Piggott, Senior Acquisitions Consultant for Lidl, commented:
"I wanted to send a note to say thank you to everyone at Signs Express Leeds who had involvement in creating the “Yorkshire Rose” for Lidl. This was an interesting project and we’re all very proud of the results!
I found Signs Express very easy to deal with and they understood what I wanted to achieve: I wasn’t looking for a normal panel with graphics on; I wanted something very unique and bespoke. Dave recommended a designer he works closely with as the starting point and I wasn’t disappointed with the service. The design they came up with was just what I was looking for, I then worked with Dave at Signs Express Leeds to get the Rose and signage made and installed. It took on another dimension completely when in situ and was far better than I had expected, I was so impressed when I saw the finished product installed. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Signs Express Leeds to look after any of your project needs."
