When St Mary’s College changed its name to St Mary’s Independent School, they required a full rebrand and approached Signs Express Southampton for help. The client had received feedback that the term ‘College’ in their name was misleading and they were keen to rectify this.
The rebranding exercise commenced with the creation of a new logo. Working with a minimal brief, we developed a concept that would help entice prospective parents, be easily recognisable and encompass the school’s reputation as leaders in education.
After receiving approval from the client, who was inspired and enthused about the new design, the logo was used throughout the school signage.
Twenty external signs were produced and installed across the grounds. To ensure consistency, all fittings were specially customised to complement the school colours.
Special attention was also taken to ensure that the installation would have minimal impact on pupils and the day-to-day running of the school.
Overall, the project was a resounding success. The school received positive feedback from parents, who were thrilled with the new design.
To create a more coherent visual identity, the new logo was rolled out across their website and a wealth of other materials, such as posters, adverts and brochures.
