Our Work
Premium signage for luxury chocolatier
When Belgian confectionery brand Guylian decided their UK head office in Oxfordshire needed a signage upgrade, they didn’t want just another nameplate above the door. They wanted something that demonstrated craftsmanship, quality and a little indulgence.
That’s where Signs Express (Oxford) came in.

The Brief
The building sat on Danebrook Court Business Park, tucked among other modern offices, but the old signage had lost its shine. The Guylian team wanted something that felt more alive, something that would make visitors stop and think, “Yes, that looks like Guylian.”
They approached Ian and Priya Lawry, the husband-and-wife duo behind Signs Express Oxford, with a goal to breathe some warmth and luxury back into the building’s appearance.
Our Input
The first step was simple: visit the site, see the space, and listen. Ian and Priya carried out a full survey, measuring up and noting how the existing signs interacted with the surroundings. It was about creating something that matched the feel of the brand, much more than simply replacing panels.
Back at the workshop, they sketched up a few concepts. One design quickly stood out. It borrowed its inspiration from Guylian’s famous chocolate box packaging — clean, confident, and instantly recognisable.
That idea became the foundation for the new design.
The Materials and Instillation
From that point, the work moved quickly. The Signs Express team produced two powder-coated aluminium signs in-house; each one finished with cut acrylic letters to give the logo depth and definition. The finish wasn’t glossy or loud. Instead, it had that subtle sheen you’d expect from a premium brand.
Every letter, colour tone, and edge was matched carefully to Guylian’s official brand palette. No corners cut, no shortcuts taken.
The new signs were fitted the next day. Installation went smoothly — level, secure, and weatherproof. The building suddenly had a presence again.
Result
The transformation is hard to miss. The new signage feels fresh and contemporary but still very “Guylian.” The powder-coated finish reflects just enough light to catch your eye, while the crisp acrylic lettering adds dimension and balance.
Now, visitors walking into the Oxfordshire office get a first impression that matches the refined, creative and quietly confident brand reputation.
For Signs Express Oxford, the project wasn’t only about new panels on a wall — it was about storytelling. The right sign, done well, has a way of setting the tone before anyone even steps through the door.
And for Guylian, that story is about craft, quality, and detail — the same things that go into every chocolate they make.
