Cardiff’s Afghan Cuisine Launch

They approached Signs Express Cardiff with a clear goal: to create an eye-catching shopfront that would reflect the vibrant character of their brand and attract attention from passers-by.

To meet Afghan Cuisine’s brief for bold, eye-catching signage, Signs Express Cardiff delivered a custom fascia sign tray with full internal LED illumination. The solution was carefully designed to complement the restaurant's branding while ensuring high visibility from the street, both day and night.

• Installation – Our installers completed a smooth, professional fit, aligning, lighting, and securing each element to perfection.

• A bespoke fascia sign tray, finished in Brown (RAL 8011) matt Dibond, measuring 5580mm (L) x 1120mm (H), with a 30mm down-stand and 100mm return for depth and structure.
  

Built-up letters spelling "AFGHAN CUISINE", featuring:

• White LED modules (RL175-2W) for face illumination
  
  
• 5mm opal acrylic faces, overlaid with SAV (self-adhesive vinyl)
  
  
• 80mm perforated gold returns, delivering an elegant contrast and premium finish
  
  
• Additional text produced via CNC fret-cutting, backed with a 3mm opal acrylic carrier panel, in line with the client's visual identity

Illuminated 3D Circular Sign

• A 1200mm diameter circular sign, adding a distinctive visual element
  
  
• Constructed with a 5mm opal acrylic face, 80mm perforated gold return, and illuminated with RL175-2W white LED modules
  
  
• Finished with FCDP (MD5 Matt Laminate) for durability and a premium look
  
  
• Flush-mounted to the wall using a 10mm white Foamex back tray, creating a clean, integrated appearance
  
  

We guided the client through material and lighting selections, advising on finish options, colour palettes, and design elements to ensure the final signage aligned with their branding goals while standing out in a busy urban setting.

The final signage not only met the client’s aesthetic goals but also provided practical benefits such as energy-efficient illumination and long-lasting materials.
