The Harlow Leisurezone

When the Harlow & District Sports Trust got close to opening their brand-new £25 million Leisurezone, they wanted the place to look as good as it felt. The building had been years in the planning, and it was designed to bring people together – families, athletes, kids, everyone. The Trust needed clear, modern signage to match the new space and make visitors feel welcome from the moment they arrived.

Project Overview

Our team at Signs Express (Harlow) worked closely with the Trust’s marketing department to make sure the new branding ran right through the site. Every colour, font and finish followed their brand guidelines, and we added extra touches like promotional panels and information boards for the opening week.

Inside, we installed fresh wayfinding and safety signs. Outside, large aluminium trays and directional signage helped people find their way around the new grounds. We also produced a set of point-of-sale materials to support the centre’s new membership drive.

We used exterior-grade aluminium and hard-wearing vinyl finishes to make sure the signs would last. Everything was printed and cut in-house to ensure perfect colour matching with the Trust’s brand palette.

Challenges and Solutions

We were working to a fixed deadline and couldn’t risk delays. The launch date had already been announced, and the signs had to be ready before the big opening. It meant quick thinking, careful planning, and a fair bit of teamwork to pull it all together. Our installers worked evenings to get it all finished in time, even with weather and access restrictions.

We handled everything in-house, the design, manufacture, and full installation. The same project lead remained on it from start to finish, so nothing slipped through the cracks.

Outcome

Seeing the final signs go up just before the grand opening was brilliant. The whole space looked bright, professional, and ready for the public. The signage pulled the building together and gave it a really polished finish.

I requested to change a couple of bits and very quickly we had designed exactly what I was looking for. I proof checked it and got booked in for fitting.
