Transforming Office Spaces with Bespoke Wall Graphics
Bringing Local Identity Indoors
Having worked with Epping Forest District Council for many years on external signage, parking signs and vehicle graphics, we were excited to be asked to support them on something a little different — their first internal wall graphics project.
The brief was to bring a sense of place into the council’s offices, using large-scale imagery that reflected the unique character of the Epping Forest district. The result? A standout example of how custom-designed wall graphics can uplift a workplace and spark conversation — without a full refurbishment.
The Project
After an initial consultation with the council’s Workspace Project Manager, we carried out a full site survey to assess:

The layout and purpose of different rooms

The position of furniture and fixtures

Wall conditions and lighting levels
This helped us determine that one-piece custom wallpapers were the best option — allowing for seamless, high-impact visuals that wouldn’t be broken up by joins or panels.
Design and Placement That Told a Story
Rather than simply choosing generic scenery, the images were selected for their relevance to local life. Each one had a specific purpose, designed to enhance how the room was used and felt.
For example:

An autumn scene from Epping Forest was placed behind a cluster of meeting hub furniture — creating the impression that the seating area led straight into the forest.

Other murals included iconic landmarks and familiar landscapes from across the district, helping staff and visitors connect to the area they serve.
The design wasn’t just about aesthetics — it was carefully considered to support zoning, wellbeing, and flow throughout the workspace.
