The Brief and How We Met It
We were tasked with designing and installing a suite of external signage solutions that would elevate the visual identity of the Evesham site while ensuring full compliance with building and safety regulations. Our solution included a built-up, face-lit entrance logo and a series of tension fabric illuminated flex face signs. The illuminated features were especially important in boosting the brand’s roadside presence after dark.
To meet the client’s expectations, we managed the project from concept to completion — including surveys, visual mock-ups, proposals, fabrication, and installation. Our approach ensured that the final result was both visually powerful and practically robust.
Collaborative Process
From the outset, the project was a collaborative process between our team and the Simply Gym leadership. We carried out multiple site surveys and review meetings to ensure alignment on design, layout, and health and safety requirements. Detailed visual mock-ups helped bring the concept to life and gave the client full confidence in the proposed designs.
As the site was still under development, we also coordinated with other contractors to ensure our installation aligned with the building timeline and electrical infrastructure.
Our Input to the Design & Materials
Although the brand identity already existed, we played a key role in adapting this for signage application. This included advising on the size, placement, and construction of the illuminated signage to ensure visibility, symmetry, and brand consistency. We also consulted on colour, depth, and materials — ensuring the designs remained faithful to the brand while delivering maximum visual impact.
We partnered with Nova Aluminium to deliver a high-quality, perimeter tensioned fabric flex face system, ideal for large format, illuminated signage. This system ensured even light distribution across the face and durability in all weather conditions. For the entrance, we installed a built-up, face-lit logo using LED illumination — chosen for its brightness, energy efficiency, and longevity. All materials used were high-grade aluminium and acrylic, selected for their strength and finish.
Challenges and Solutions
A key challenge was access. The nature of the site required our team to work at height, so we deployed Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) for safe and efficient installation. Our installation crew — fully trained in operating MEWPs — worked with precision, ensuring that all aspects of the job were carried out with the highest attention to detail and safety compliance.
Coordinating with other trades on-site also required clear communication and agile scheduling, which our team managed seamlessly.
Installation Details
The installation was completed over 2.5 days by a team of three skilled operatives. We ensured that all signage was pre-tested and pre-wired where possible, enabling a smooth and efficient installation process. Our experience with illuminated signage and access equipment meant the job was completed safely, on time, and to the highest professional standards.

The final result is a clean, professional, and high-impact exterior that makes the Simply Gym site unmissable. The signage not only enhances the brand’s presence but also delivers strong practical functionality, particularly the illuminated components which dramatically improve nighttime visibility.
