Burdens
We were asked to help roll out new signage across several of their branches as part of a wider relocation and brand refresh. This project was about helping the company present a consistent, professional image wherever their customers and partners saw them.
Client needs
Burdens were upgrading and moving a number of sites across the UK, and Signs Express (Birmingham Central) was brought in through the national Signs Express network to look after several of the new locations.
Each site had slightly different requirements including different building layouts, entrance points, and visibility levels. We spent time on site first to get a proper feel for each location before finalising designs. From there, we manufactured and installed everything from large exterior signs and panel-and-post systems to door signage, directional markers, and health and safety boards.
Our approach
When you’re working with industrial sites, you can’t cut corners on materials. We needed something strong, weather-resistant and light enough to install safely at height.
We chose aluminium trays and aluminium composite panels, materials that strike that balance between strength and practicality. They’re rigid, long-lasting, and ideal for both indoor and outdoor environments.
On top of that, we used digitally printed vinyl graphics, sealed with UV protection to keep the Burdens branding sharp and bright, even after years in the elements.
The installation itself was a mix of planning and precision. Some of the signs were fitted directly onto exterior cladding, others on free-standing posts and monolith structures.
We worked closely with Burdens’ site managers to make sure everything went up safely and in the right order — especially important when you’re sharing space with active construction and delivery teams.
By staggering the work across multiple sites, our installers managed to keep things on schedule without affecting day-to-day operations.
The Outcome
When the last panel was in place, each site had the same strong, professional look — clear branding, tidy wayfinding, and signage that feels built-in rather than added on.
You can spot the difference as soon as you pull onto the site. The signage looks solid, purposeful and easy to read, which is exactly what you want from a company with Burdens’ reputation.
