Sign Maker / Sign Fitter
We are looking for a skilled Sign Maker and Installer to join our friendly, professional team at Signs Express (Peterborough) to help us create and install a wide and exciting range of signage.
The perfect candidate will have a positive, can-do attitude, be able to maintain our high standards of workmanship and quality, be self-motivated and be a good role model for the rest of the team. This job would suit someone who likes to see the impact they have on both our company and our client’s business.
Location: Signs Express (Peterborough & Kings Lynn), Unit 12, Saracen Business Park, Newark Road, Peterborough, PE1 5WS
Salary: Negotiable. £24 – 28k p.a depending on experience
Working Hours: Full-time position, Monday-Friday
Travel: A full, clean driving licence
ABOUT THE ROLE
About Us:
As a small, close-knit team, we are part of the UK and Ireland’s leading signage and graphics network with an excellent reputation for bespoke solutions, delivered with excellent customer care.
Duties Include:
In-house production.
Installing all types of internal and external signage, including fascia and post mounted signs.
Application of vinyl onto a variety of substrates, including window graphics.
Ability to wrap vehicles is an advantage.
Interpreting briefs accurately with a great understanding of different signage and manufacturing techniques.
Sign making, working with a wide range of substrates including Dibond, acrylics, metals, wood, vinyl and Foamex, to a consistently high standard.
Ensuring all installations are completed on time, to budget and to our usual high standards.
Following all company procedures and guidelines to ensure all signs are fitted safely and securely.
Taking responsibility for your own and others’ health and safety when working.
Ensuring Risk Assessments and Method Statements are understood and followed.
Providing outstanding customer service to our clients and others at all times.
What we would like from you:
Note: We will also consider more junior applicants with less experience, but who have the right can do attitude , and a strong motivation to learn.
A minimum of three years' industry experience making and installing a wide range of signage solutions.
Proven experience in a sign fitting role is absolutely necessary, encompassing vehicle graphics application, panel application, installation and use of relevant software packages.
You will have a positive, can-do attitude, be well organised and be able to work alone as well as part of our team.
Good working knowledge of design and RIP software.
The ability to interpret briefs accurately.
IPAF/PASMA/CSCS accreditations (desirable but not essential).
Clean driving licence.
Professional, flexible, enthusiastic individual, a strong communicator, well organised and be able to work alone, as well as part of a team.
An understanding of the importance of health & safety.
