National recognition for Signs Express (Basildon's) outstanding project

Tony and Tina Surface, owners of Signs Express (Basildon) were awarded the Most Striking Sign/Design trophy, in recognition of such an impressive project they have produced. Situated on the roundabout leading into Heathrow Airport, Signs Express (Basildon) has designed, manufactured and installed a free-standing sign for Etihad Airways, which is designed to look as though it is floating. The illuminated signs greet passengers entering the airport and are set against a splendid backdrop of three model aeroplanes taking off in all directions, perfectly reflecting the airline's catchphrase, 'From Abu Dhabi to the World'. Two other branches were listed as finalists for the award, Signs Express (Lancaster) and Signs Express (Worcester). The Lancaster Centre has worked with its local university for many years, but this award nomination was in relation to the 'Design the Spine' project, which was intended to revamp the student area of the University. Signs Express (Lancaster) applied exterior floor vinyl to concrete floors in major walkways as well as fitting the vinyl to the stairs leading to the Students' Union. The centre managed to accomplish all of the signs to the highest of standards – an especially tricky task when adhering to concrete – and they met all desired deadlines to ensure the least disruption possible. Signs Express (Worcester) secured a place on the finalist's podium with their work for 24/7 Fitness in Kidderminster. 24/7 Fitness is a regular client who orchestrated a rebrand earlier in 2015 and their Kidderminster branch was the first to try out the new designs. Signs Express (Worcester) created wall hanging signs, signs that wrap around the reception area and branded pillar wraps. Tony and Tina of Basildon Signs Express were ecstatic with the award win and Tina stated that 'We attend the annual awards evening almost every year and it is an amazing feeling to have our commitment and the hard work of our team recognised with a trophy.
