With the project spanning six months, regular communication and consultation meetings were held to ensure deadlines were met and that the client was kept updated at all times, ensuring a stress-free supplier relationship.
The project was split into two phases, the first phase included refurbishment of the dining area, internal signage for the college hair salon and nameplates for approximately 60 doors as well as a number of external signs around the college.
Phase two was focused on the official opening day of the college which included: reverse printed and mounted acrylics of biographies showcasing past students who have since become celebrity chefs; a commemorative plaque in etched stainless steel for the official opening ceremony; an extensive display of acrylic mounted posters at the theatre entrance; Banners depicting students engaged in practical activities; and printed vinyl; and window graphics.
Most of the artwork for the above was supplied by Scarborough TEC although there was some collaboration with the design team at Signs Express (Scarborough) on several signage solutions.
All of the installation took place during term-time which was not a problem for Signs Express (Scarborough) as their installers have all the necessary training and qualifications needed as well as carrying out a comprehensive risk assessment prior to any work beginning.
Whilst the staff at Scarborough TEC do not comment publicly about suppliers, they were thrilled with the final work, the professionalism and efficiency of Signs Express (Scarborough) and testimony to this is that SES are delighted to be working with STEC on current projects involving further on -site extensions.
